Shiloh national Military Park is situated near the savannah and it is 185 kilometers away and in the south west direction of the Nashville. This is really the place which has seen of the heaviest bloodshed in the entire history of the US. This marks the place where one of the civil war was fought way back in 1862. This battle was fought between the army under General Grant and Albert Sydney. You can also call them the army of Tennessee combined with the army of Ohio and the army of Mississippi.

I must tell you that General Grant was resting on the bank of river Tennessee and waiting for Buell to join him very soon. Albert Sydney who was the general of army of Mississippi understood that this will be really devastating for them if they would join each other. Hence he decided to attack the army under Grant who were 25000 in number.

He really decided to compel them to move back and into the swamp of the owl creek. Hence with this intention in mind he attacked with his 45000 soldiers. This happened in the early morning of April 6th 1862at 6:00 o clock.

The plan of Albert Sydney really proved to work for few hours but he was ultimately defeated and more than 25 soldiers in all from both sides were killed. After few years the farmers who were cultivating in the area complained to the government that there pig were rooting up with the remains of the soldiers which fell down during the war. Hence the government really decided to open a national park in the area. They call it the Shiloh national park. This park is now very old and is about to finish its 100 years in 2016 and there is going to be a grand party in the coming year.
