Shiloh National Military Park - Group Visit
Shiloh is one of the places which have seen one of the bloodiest battles in the American history. It really marks the victory of the union army over the confederates. However if you will read the whole history of the war then you will come to one conclusion that you cannot say that any one of them was the clear winner. It was really bloodshed with no output.
If you want to visit the place in group then there is a definite procedure which you will have to follow. You will have to fill the form which is meant for such a trip. You will have to write down the required material in the space provided and then print out the form. You will then have to mail the completed form to the Shiloh national military park, 1055 Pittsburg landing road, Shiloh TN-38376 or fax it to facility you plan to visit. Shiloh battlefield: 731-689-5330 or Corinth civil war center 662-287-9660.
However you should note down clearly that this park does not book a ranger lead program or tour. It does not wave your entrance fee. It just notifies the park of your intentions.
I would now like to discuss different rules for different types of groups. They are as follows:
1. School groups
A fee waiver application is required to be filled for fee to be waived. Also required is the listing of your specific learning objectives on school stationery. Please sign your letter and submit it one month before. If you are interested in the ranger led program then you should please contact the ranger Ashley berry at 662-287-9273.
2. Scout groups
Scout group does not qualify for educational fee waiver. Scouts over the age 15, leaders and parents must pay the parks fees. Any scout who is willing to participate in a service project should contact the ranger Joe Davis at 731-689-5696 at least four weeks in advance.
3. Military group
If you are interested in ranger led ranger led staff ride then you should call Charlie spearman well in advance of your planned staff ride.
4. Commercial groups
Park rangers do not serve as guide to commercial tours. However they are always invited for any interpretive program which is offered to the visiting public.
Shiloh national military program does not coordinate the Boy Scout hiking program. A scout group out of Memphis, Tennessee, issues hiking packets, grade the material and awards patches. You can contact them in variety of ways
